In honor of Charlie Kirk, Refiners Fire 2025 is calling for those who wish to participate in a 10-day fast, eating only vegetables, as Daniel did in Daniel 1:11–17. In some ways—though not all—both Charlie and Daniel were called by God at a very early age to serve His purposes. Daniel and his three friends asked the chief steward to allow them to eat only vegetables for 10 days.

Let those who recognize the leading of the Holy Spirit in this action join us in fasting. We ask that you choose something to fast from for 10 days. Whether it is vegetables only, like Daniel, or something else, let the Spirit guide you.

Prayer Focus During This Fast

One:
For Charlie’s wife, two children, parents, immediate family, and friends during this time of grief.
Two:
That the Lord would uphold them, and that Americans would honor the calling of God that was upon Charlie’s life.
Three:
For our nation—that Jesus would once again be acknowledged as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in the hearts and minds of the American people, just as our nation was originally founded on the worship of Christ (see the Mayflower Compact).

Let us pray that our people and government would once again proclaim, as in 1 Corinthians 15:3–5: “That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas…”

May God have mercy on our nation and open our hearts again to the pure Word of the Scriptures. May He comfort Charlie’s family during this season of deep sorrow.
